About Me

Hi. My name is Simon Duggal. I’m a producer, composer, remixer and musician. I’ve made records for Shania Twain, Erasure, Maxi Priest and many others. I’ve composed music for many tv programs and commercials for Intel and Pepsi amongst others, and have some of my songs featured in Hollywood and Bollywood movies. I also have a song in a new movie entitled “It’s a Wonderful Afterlife” directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham) and due for International release in April 2010. You can read more about me here: www.simonduggal.com

The Beginning

I started my musical life as a drummer. In my late teens I was asked to play drums on an album for  singer Stan Campbell (WEA Records). The album was recorded at UB40′s studio DEP International in Birmingham England and was produced by Mark Freegard (Marrillion) and engineered by John Shaw (UB40). As a young musician just starting out, I quickly realised from being around these guys that I wanted to  be a Producer/Composer. I set about building a home studio with my brother Diamond (DJ Swami) and together we made records. My first few records were very successful.  Since then I’ve produced records for many artists, and my records have received nominations for The Brit Award (3 times), The Mercury Music Prize and I was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award alongside Take That and M People.

Why Record Mix and Master?

I’ve learnt alot over the years – some through research and some through trial and error . It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration to have had a comprehensive resource at my finger tips. So that’s why I’d like to share my knowledge with you and I hope you find my blog interesting and useful.
