We will be exploring the history of mastering and vinyl at Abbey Road, using rare photos given to us directly by Abbey Road Studios⁠.📸 For the 3rd part of our photo series exploring the history of mastering and vinyl at Abbey Road Studios, we have this image of Ken Scott in one of Abbey Road's cuttings rooms circa 1965.💡 In the 1960s, an important part of training to become a recording engineer was first doing your time as a cutting engineer. I use this setting on @acusticaaudio #TaupeTape #p I use this setting on @acusticaaudio #TaupeTape #plugin on my #master bus. It's the MCI JH24 2” 24-TRACK tape emulation. The same #tapemachine @bobmarley had in in his @tuffgonginternational Studio #Kingston #Jamaica which I've worked in and had the pleasure of using. It's followed by a #hardwareinsert to my #sslsix (Super analog channels 1 and 2) ... so I get the same signal path as tracks coming off #tape and back into the desk. The SiX is followed by my #UAD #SSL G Series Bus #Compressor. The compressor on the SiX sounds great but the Universal Audio G Bus comp gives me more control and sounds great too. It sounds awesome. That harsh crappy #digital sound is eliminated from my mixes. #analogue #inthebox #digitalaudio
